Emergency Rent Relief Pre-Application

The Emergency Rent Relief Program will assist Alamedans who are suffering a temporary financial setback due to the COVID-19 public health emergency and need help with rent due. If you have experienced a financial hardship as a result of COVID-19 and are having difficulty paying all or part of your rent, please apply.
To qualify for assistance, you must meet the following criteria:
  • Reside in the City of Alameda as your primary residence
  • Demonstrate a COVID-19 impact on your ability to pay rent
  • Be behind in some portion of your rent payment since the Shelter-in-Place order was announced on March 16, 2020.
One-time, gap Emergency Rent Relief up to $3,500 per household or one month’s residential rent, whichever is less, may be available for qualified applicants.
PRE-APPLICATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 10, 2020 at 11:59pm
Thank you for your interest. The City of Alameda is currently reviewing the pre-applications that have been submitted. Pre-Applications will re-open at 4pm on August 27, 2020.
